Omegle is a fascinating app that allows for two strangers to talk completely anonymously.
The app started with text chat and still retains those capabilities. Click a few buttons, and boom: You're talking, via text, with another stranger. You can chat for as long as you want, exchange contact information, or leave the chat and begin to talk with someone new. All you have to do is press the "talk" button, and you're in. You are not required to set up an account or profile. Indeed, that would almost completely cut against the spirit of the app, which is to allow people to talk anonymously. However, you can choose to do so, and that helps to give you a more customized experience.
